Job Title: Production Editor - Book Publishing

    

Salary package: £18-24,000 dependent on experience. **** Previous experience of working within the Book Publishing industry or the Childrens market would be a distinct advantage****

      

Location: Bath  

    

Key Responsibilities:

 

Handle a portfolio of titles, liaising with editors and designers within that area to minimize the efficiency of the creation of the product, and minimize or eliminate problems associated with delivering the product to final destination.

    

Setting schedules from MTR through to printer ready files    

Writing design briefs and briefing a designed on the amends required              

Calling up artwork files    

Keeping track of schedules    

Copy editing    

Proof reading                               
Placement and management of titles with repro houses, ensuring repro are aware of requirements   

Ensuring files hit printer on schedule and that there are no delays to ETD dates     

Managing repro costs for your list – set budget and monitor actual against budget      

Attend weekly scheduling meetings and update Head of Licensed/ Kids of any scheduling issues/ delays   

To ensure full compliance with the company Health & Safety policy

MIDDLE/HEAVYWEIGHT GRAPHIC DESIGNER: £25,000: YEOVIL

 

Job title: Middle/Heavyweight Creative Graphic Designer/Illustrator.

    

Salary: Circa £25,000.  

Location: Yeovil, Somerset. 

   

Job Description: The key elements that are important to our client: 

-Any applicants relocating must be serious and ready to move. Applicants must also be prepared to put in the hours when needed. 

-Candidates, you must have an up todate portfolio to accompany your CV. This will demonstrate your skills and ability required. 

-No prima donnas! They are a small tight team and need people with the right attitude. You must be just as happy doing the bread and butter work as the nice stuff. 

-They are looking for real talent to join their team on a permanent basis. Unfortunately they are not looking for freelancers at this stage.  

  

In a nutshell they're looking for someone who can take a project from a brief right the way through to finished high quality artwork, the right person will be:

-Equally as happy doing the mundane bread and butter artwork as they are doing concepts for a new corporate ID. (Very important). 

-You will be able to work from scamps/scribbles and interpret them into high quality artwork, putting your own creative slant on the job.  

-You will be able to create your own concepts from a brief when necessary. 

-You will have outstanding CS Suite knowledge, an excellent eye for composition and typography and a real love for design in general.

-Be looking to relocate and work or currently live in the South West, close to Yeovil. Commuting will prove difficult as they work long hours. (Very important).

-You will be a really hard worker who can just get on with it from start to finish.

- Any additional skills in web design or illustration work would be a major bonus. 

    

This is a full time job in a rapidly expanding studio with good prospects.

ACCOUNT MANAGER EVENTS: BRADFORD ON AVON: £18,000 OTE: PDF E-mail

Job Title: Events Account Manager

Hours: Mon & Fri @ 9-6pm / wed @ 8.30 – 5.30pm / Tue & Thurs 9.30am – 6.30pm

Holiday: 20 days annually. 

Salary: to £15k, OTE £17.5-£18k.
 
Our client is a young company which organizes group activity weekends. You'll be coordinating all elements of the weekend including accommodation, activities, transport and entertainment. The company currently consists of 10 people and has led this specific niche market with the highest industry standards since incorporation in 2002. 
  
The role will involve; 

• Answering new enquiries from clients and passing to the correct team member. 
• Taking responsibility for the 5 stages of the response management process. 
• Responsibility for event management at specific destinations and jobs within those areas. 
• Working to individual and team targets. 
• Responsibility for negotiating the best rates and keeping packages competitive. 
• Monitoring the competition. 
• Communicating and listening to the clients requirements. 
• Making suggestions and creating exciting itineraries to produce attractive weekends. 
• Booking groups with existing suppliers. 
• Negotiating the best rates with existing suppliers and recruiting new suppliers. 
• Using and updating an Access database. 
• Working with all the administration for each job from initial enquiry to letter of confirmation. 
• Financial administration including taking payments from the clients, raising purchase orders and invoices. 
• Delivering a high standard of presentation to the client in terms of their confirmation letter and venue details. 
• Working with the team on larger marketing strategies. 
• Using initiative to improve the companies position in the market place. 
• Assisting other team members which may include working on international weekends. 

Skills and abilities: 
The ability to work alone to create revenue reporting in to a manager on a regular basis. 
Computer literacy including Access, Microsoft outlook, Excel and Word. 
Natural communication skills. 
Good negotiation skills.
