The role and specification:

Our client is looking for an Assistant to join their Graphics Department. You will support the Graphics Manager in daily tasks. The ideal candidate must have:

•Working knowledge of modern sign writing.

•Some experience of working within the sign and graphic design industry or similar.

•Some practical experience of sign fitting and vinyl graphic application.

•Well organised and the ability to assist in work load and manage own workload and work as part of a team.

•Experience of multitasking and understanding a variety of different design briefs.

•Excellent communication skills – written and oral.

•Creative graphic designer and artworker, happy to work on tight briefs, or using your creative skills to help kick start the design process.

Our client publish ‘Books Plus’ these are books with extras on the front cover e.g. stickers, diaries, gifts etc. and you will be involved in the development of these new products.  As New Product Development (NPD) Project Planner, you’ll work alongside the NPD Project Manager on the scheduling, sign-off process and meetings relating to the development of new products. This is a very busy role and would suit an Account Manager or Account Executive who is used to working with multiple clients on multiple campaigns.

You’ll be responsible for all aspects of gifting, books and planning. You’ll work closely with the publishing department to bring the different development processes of book and component together along a development schedule that you have created and own. You’ll have a common goal with publishing in bringing the 2 time lines of the same product to a successful pack out conclusion. You’ll take ownership of this schedule and notify by exception any slippage to the plan. You’ll drive the process and ensure all parties are aware of what, where, when and how they are to deliver information and ensure they do. You’ll be happy and confident liaising with various departments such as editors, production controllers and Far East offices – you’ll work with the sourcing team in Asia to develop the complete finished product.
